Whether you are at an airport, driving, standing in line for something or getting through the day at work, Positive words of self-affirmation can help to reinforce your motivation and it only takes likes about 2 minutes.
The Exercise:
Now you don’t have to close your eyes when you do this but it is important to focus on something constant - whether that’s a desk, a wall, the pavement of the road or a ceiling fan. You'll first want to think about how you are breathing. Start by counting to 4 when you inhale and exhale and then try to stretch those breaths to 5 seconds and then 6 seconds to help your body and mind get into a calm state. Then repeat these phrases a couple times. If you're in public, just think these phrases instead of speaking them out loud.
The first phrase is: I can rise above my thoughts that make me angry or sad.
Here's the second phrase: I am not defined by my past, I am driven by my future.
Here's the last phrase: I forgive myself and free myself from all doubt and fear.
Repeat each 2-3 times. These affirmations can really help to reduce a stress and give your mind the reset it needs so you can finish the day strong.
